Jay Burns

Jay Burns

Hello, Jay Burns here. I am grateful to God’s grace for the "mountaintops" in my life. Highlighting a few: my best friend of 39 years, Ginny; my son Hunter, whom I love so much; my daughter Molly, who brings me such joy; my “spouse-in-laws” Rachel and Tripp, whom I love as my own; and being grandfather “Poppin” to Taylor and Burns.

I am equally grateful for affliction, which God has used to transform Ginny and me so that we might be blessed and entrusted with the Prodigal ministry, where people in pain show up every week and find hope in God. How loving!

Psalm 119:65-72

65 You have dealt well with your servant,
O Lord, according to your word.
66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge,
for I believe in your commandments.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I keep your word.
68 You are good and do good;
teach me your statutes.
69 The insolent smear me with lies,
but with my whole heart I keep your precepts;
70 their heart is unfeeling like fat,
but I delight in your law.
71 It is good for me that I was afflicted,
that I might learn your statutes.
72 The law of your mouth is better to me
than thousands of gold and silver pieces. (ESV)

Psalm 110:1

The Lord says to my Lord:
'Sit at my right hand,
until I make your enemies your footstool.'
